63rd CST performs search and rescue in wake of devastating Moore tornado
Following what may be the most destructive tornado in the history of the United States, the dedicated members of the 63rd Civil Support Team, Oklahoma National Guard, respond to the destruction that was left after the city of Moore, Okla., was ripped apart by a deadly tornado May 20.

New commander to mold Wisconsin’s Iron Brigade
The Wisconsin Army National Guard’s Milwaukee-based 157th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade bid farewell to one commander and welcomed a new one in a May 19 change of command ceremony at the historic Richards Street Armory.

182nd command chief retires after 41 years
On Aug. 17, 2013, Chief Master Sgt. Stephen James Eakle will retire after 41 years of service in the U.S. armed forces. Eakle enlisted in the Illinois Air National Guard in the June of 1972 and served in several diverse career fields such as security, training, medical, and logistics.

New York Army National Guard soldiers learn hand-to-hand combatives skills
New York Army National Guard soldiers are developing the skills of hand-to-hand combat during combatives training classes taught at Camp Smith Training Site. "It builds confidence, it makes you feel proud, it builds up their warrior spirit.You're going to know how to survive. When you're attacked, you're not going to run, you're going to know how to react," said 1st Sgt. Thomas C. Strauss.
