Michigan National Guard Battery Commander Good as Gold
Michigan National Guard Comander Good as GoldCapt. Delbert Avery, commander of Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 119th Field Artillery Regiment, knew this was going to be his last annual training. As he stood with his Soldiers, face beaming with pride during each of the gun crew and battery pictures, he humbly reflected on the honorable task of leading Bravo Battery in back to back years of earning the Battalion Artillery Award.


OK National Guard hosts kids' camp
Kids Kamp 2014 repel towerThe Oklahoma National Guard hosts a joint kids’ camp for military dependents July 20 to July 26 at Camp Gruber Training Site in Braggs, Okla., providing fun and knowledge about the military. The guard created the Kids Kamp to help campers cope with the realities of having a family member in the military, while building bonds with other campers and youth volunteers.


Explosive ordnance disposal training during PATRIOT 2014
Participating in PATRIOT 2014, a National Guard training exercise at Volk Field, is the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Flight from the 115th Fighter Wing, Madison, Wisconsin. PATRIOT 2014 has opened many training opportunities that wouldn’t be possible with the limited time available for training at their home units. This allows them to engage in dozens of exercises to hone their valuable skill set.
