The humming melody of the ship’s engine is accompanied by the hiss of scuba bottles being charged and the staccato rhythm of chains being taken off 10-foot-tall steel storage boxes. The divers of Underwater Construction Team One (UCT ONE), shout a chorus of “bleeding down!” and “charging!” as a safety precaution when preparing their diving equipment.

NMCB 133 supports joint NEO exerciseSeabees from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 133 Detail Rota recently participated in a non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO) exercise with personnel from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 8, Coastal Riverine Squadron 2 (CRS 2), and with Marines from Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) Company Europe and Africa while deployed in Rota, Spain. NMCB 133 Detail Rota operated the Evacuation Control Center (ECC) in a simulated hostile environment, assisted by CRS 2, to process 50 evacuees in under 30 minutes.


Chief selectees to be pinned Sept. 16
Chief selectees to be pinned Sept. 16The traditional chief’s pinning ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, in Hangar 355, Hawkeye Country, at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu. Fifty-four chief selectees are expected to be pinned at the event, which is open to everyone with base access.
