Integrated Task Force Artillery Marines send first rounds downrangeAs the Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force Marines pave the way forward, live-fire training serves as a vital aspect of weaponry familiarization. Marines of Battery A, GCEITF, sent the first rounds down range during a live-fire artillery shoot with the M777A2 Lightweight Howitzer at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Oct. 28-30, 2014.


HMLA 267 joins forces with Airmen during search and rescue training
Marine pilots with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267 (HMLA), and Air Force pilots with 34th Weapons Squadron, an instructional unit for Air Force rescue mission training, conducted joint combat search and rescue exercises aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Oct. 28, 2014.


II MEF leadership emphasize readiness, standards
Maj. Gen. William D. Beydler, the commanding general of II Marine Expeditionary Force, has a clear message for Marines and sailors - Readiness, Readiness, Readiness. Beydler said global instability requires Marines and sailors to be in a constant state of preparedness, and his goal is to ensure each service member within the MEF meets or exceeds Marine Corps readiness standards.

Breaking Bread: Hot Chow Boosts MoraleChatter filled the air as Marines of all ranks and jobs took a small pause from their work and the sun cast its last warm, golden rays over Fort Bragg, North Carolina. “Rolling Thunder” was quiet for the group of Marines and sailors gathered around warm trays of chicken potpie, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and the crowd favorite, red velvet cake.
