Developing our leaders
GRAFENWOEHR, Germany – As our military continues to adapt to a period of change, the Army is always training leaders to be the best in the world—in any terrain under any circumstances. Upcoming leaders from 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, have an opportunity to learn and develop from multiple training rotations to foreign lands during exercises such as Combined Resolve III.


Plowing through the obstacle
Cleaning the PlowAn immense trench stretches before a group of engineers. Pushing forward, a giant plow cuts through the earth like Moses parting the Red Sea causing dark soil to cascade up from the ground like water. Afterwards, they pour the dirt into the channel creating a bridge to the other side. For an engineer, overcoming obstacles comes with the job, but what makes this particular trial different are the vehicles used to master it.


Chickamauga Lock to reopen the end of next week
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District plans to reopen Chickamauga Lock to all navigation traffic as early as Thursday, Nov. 6. An inspection of the upper gate anchorage and a repair plan was completed today.


Southern Strike 15 tackles Gulf Coast
Military units and federal agencies from across the United States have converged on South Mississippi to develop their personnel and enhance combat effectiveness during Exercise Southern Strike 15 at the Combat Readiness Training Center, in Gulfport, Mississippi, Oct. 27-Nov. 7.
