JBLM Field Artillery battalion hosts female cadet for ‘Cadet Troop Leader Training’
Every summer cadets from across the country make an appearance at Army bases around the world. They are second and third- year cadets who strive to learn as much as they can from the active duty environment in three short weeks. Tatiana Western from Olympia, Washington, was surprised but excited when she received orders to report to Joint Base Lewis McChord for her Cadet Troop Leader Training (CTLT), this summer.

Juveniles get a taste of military training
Juveniles get a taste of military trainingNine puzzled recruits stare at a series of ropes and wonder how they’re going to use a 2 1/2-foot plank to cross them. Their goal is to get themselves and a box of "serum" across the five rope hurdles and over a wall to fictional disaster victims without touching the ground beneath them. They begin to reach over a starting line to bridge the first two ropes with the plank but they can barely reach the first rope. In a moan of frustration, one of the recruits asks the question, “Is this even possible?”

Officials sign, release Route 460 draft SEISThe Virginia Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers signed the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement Sept. 18 on the Route 460 Corridor Improvements Project in Southeastern Virginia.
