On this week's Deck Watch, the Coast Guard conducted a medevac of an ailing mariner off fishing vessel Golden Alaska 125 miles southeast of Cold Bay. The Coast Guard celebrated Ombudsman Appreciation Day on March 26, 2014, and Kodiak ombudsmen will be hosting an appreciation lunch April 4, 2014. Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force and Army National Guard members are operating as one team in the annual Arctic Care mission in Kodiak from April 1-10, 2014.
