On this week's Deck Watch, the Coast Guard conducted a medevac 100 miles northwest of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, Saturday. Petty Officer 1st Class Arnold Uhrina was named Coast Guard Base Ketchikan enlisted person of the year, students from Cold Bay School toured an Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, forward deployed to Cold Bay, Alaska, and the Coast Guard encourages mariners to get free commercial fishing vessel safety examinations prior to the opening of the 2014 halibut and sablefish fishery season opening.
