Soon after checking aboard Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11, Utilitiesman 1st Class Mohammed N. Islam received the call to go assist in Hurricane Sandy disaster response in his hometown. This audio is from an interview Islam gave in Lakehurst, N.J., on Nov. 15, 2012 at the end of a roughly two week detachment with NMCB-11 to the northeast U.S. The noise in the background are trucks and other Civil Engineer Support Equipment that Islam and his shipmates were preparing to convoy back to Gulfport, Miss.
