The Afghan National Youth Taekwondo Team held an exhibition at ISAF Headquarters to start off a program bringing awareness of youth sports to Afghanistan.

  • Team USA Taekwondo Team teaches kids some moves on Fort Bliss.
  • South Korea’s Provincial Reconstruction team celebrated the completion of a hospital, a police and vocational training center at Forward Operating Base Charikar in Parwan province. The hospital is expected to serve as many as 100 Afghans from the local community daily. At the police center Afghan police will be offered a variety of classes including Taekwondo and police ethics. Finally at the vocational center Afghan students can take beautician, computer and tailoring courses.
  • Learning leadership at a young age sometimes means participating in sports. Petty officer Lisa Reese takes us to Misawa Air Base where children are handed makeshift javelins, shot put balls and run 400 meter dashes.
