    Afghan, ISAF forces find explosive, military caches

    KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan and ISAF troops found several caches of explosives and military hardware yesterday.

    A joint Afghan-ISAF force discovered an IED cache while on patrol in the Spin Boldak District of Kandahar province.

    After arresting an IED emplacer, the patrol discovered two 107 mm rockets, four anti-personnel mines, nine jugs of home-made explosives, seven pressure plates, two fuses, and numerous other IED making materials. The cache was destroyed on site.

    In Farah province, Afghan and ISAF forces discovered a large weapons cache containing 25 rocket-propelled grenades and a launcher, 17 82 mm mortar rounds, 18 mortar fuses, a 107 mm rocket, four RPG loaders, an 82 mm mortar tube, a 61 mm mortar tube, a 61 mm mortar bi-pod and a 60 mm base plate.

    In Tarin Kot District of Uruzgan province, a joint Afghan-ISAF patrol discovered a weapons cache containing five hand grenades, an anti-personnel mine, eight artillery rounds, two radio antennas, a voltmeter and a spool of wire.
