3rd Battalion, 345th Regiment Partners With Army Recruiters-Future Soldiers Get a Glimpse of Army Training
Serving the nation is a dream for many Americans across the United States. This dream will soon become a reality in the Hinesville, Ga., area as local recruiters work to bring the United States Army's newest recruits into the ranks of military service by teaming up with the 3rd Battalion, 345th Regiment of the 188th Infantry Brigade.

"Teaming with the Hinesville recruiting station provided the perfect opportunity to further develop relationships with members of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command while simultaneously reaching out to the local community of Hinesville," said Maj. John Newby, 3rd Battalion, 345th Regiment. "Having the future Army recruits attend our training also provided our Soldiers a chance to showcase their profession and teach prospective recruits about their possible future careers," continued Newby.

Seven future recruits attended the event hosted by 3rd Battalion, 345th Regiment, and the Hinesville Recruiting Station. The recruits observed urban operation training and had an opportunity to talk with several senior non-commissioned officers about service to the nation.

"I remember having a million questions about joining the Army before signing my enlistment contract," said Sgt. 1st Class Odinga Crumewing, an observer controller/trainer with 3rd Battalion, 345th Regiment. "This visit was a perfect way for us to answer the future recruit's questions and we look forward to future opportunities to provide a glimpse into what the life of a Soldier is like," said Crumewing.

"It's this type of opportunity that young recruits need to motivate them for their initial step into the military," said Staff Sgt. James Meadows, a recruiter at the Hinesville Army Recruiting Station.

"I view the USAREC partnership with the 188th Infantry Brigade as a way of connecting new Army recruits to the training and missions they might execute once in the Army," said Staff Sgt. Elvin Laureano, a recruiter from the Hinesville Army Recruiting Station. "We're definitely on the right track to give them a head start in the military," says Laureano.

When the future Soldiers were asked if they were ready for their next step into Basic Combat Training, all replied with a single word, in unison, "HOOAH!"
