Going straight from basic training to Iraq could be intimidating for many, but for Pvt. Kolbi Bohon, an Infantryman out of Medford, Ore., it is an exciting time. Pvt. Bohon finished basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. one week before coming to Fort Stewart to get ready for a deployment to Iraq.
"Getting used to the heat isn't going to be a problem for me because I am used to Georgia," said Bohon.
Pvt. Bohon truly embodies the spirit of a Soldier. He takes pride in family, country and fulfilling his life-long dream of being in the Army and living the army values. He grew up in a military family where both his biological and step-father served proudly.
"This has been a life-long dream," Pvt. Bohon said. "It's all I've wanted to do since I was a little kid."
When asked if he is nervous, Pvt. Bohon said, "I'm not nervous, I'm excited to do my job while everything is fresh in my mind."
