Col. Timothy Nelson, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing director of staff, revisits the C-17 Globemaster III as it reaches its 17 year mark in the Air Force inventory. Nelson was a member of the acceptance committee for this airframe while serving as an active duty first lieutenant in the early 1990s. The committee was responsible for ensuring the new aircraft met Air Force needs and specifications. Nelson is a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve deployed from Andrews Air Force Base, Md. in support of operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
