    INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana National Guard is pleased to announce approximately 280 Soldiers with the 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team are scheduled to return after serving in Iraq for the past nine months.

    The Soldiers are from Headquarters and Headquarters Support Battery, 3rd Battalion, 139th Field Artillery; Battery A, 1st Battalion, 163rd Field Artillery; and Headquarters and Headquarters Support Battery, 1st Battalion, 163rd Field Artillery. They are scheduled to arrive at the Indianapolis International Airport Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 10:40 a.m.

    The Soldiers will be bused to Stout Field 2002 S. Holt Road, Building 9 at approximately 11:10 a.m. where family and friends are expected to greet the returning Soldiers.

    This is the fourth group of more than 2,900 Indiana Army National Guardsman scheduled to return over the next three weeks.

    During deployment the HHSB, 3rd Battalion, 139th Field Artillery conducted more than 300 combat logistic patrols. The unit covered more than 200 thousand miles of highway roads, while moving more than 1 million tons of supplies to places in the northern area of Iraq.

    Battery A, 1st Battalion, 163rd Field Artillery Soldiers protected a route in the Mosul, Iraq, area allowing convoys to travel safely delivering supplies to areas along the route.

    The Headquarters and Headquarters Support Battery, 1st Battalion, 163rd Field Artillery played a critical role in supporting the war on terror and combat operations targeting the al-Qaida stronghold in Mosul, Iraq.
