BAGHDAD — Multi-National Division - Baghdad paratroopers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division assessed the impact of newly-installed solar-powered lights in the "Fish Market" area of Baghdad's Adhamiyah District on Dec. 22.

As security continues to improve in Baghdad due to the increase of U.S. forces on the ground, paratroopers from 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, one of the first units to move deep into Baghdad for surge operations, are seeing an increase in business and commerce in the Adhamiyah District. The "Fish Market" an outdoor thoroughfare of shops in the Rabi neighborhood, has undergone one of the most positive economic transformations.

Now that the market is thriving during the day, solar technology is being used to keep the area constantly illuminated, allowing business at the market to continue well into the night.
