As part of the Lightning Rescue 08 exercise, a C-17 from Hickam Air Force Base responded to a call to medevac a critically ill patient from a Kauai hospital to Oahu. The Hawaii Air National Guard 204th Airlift Squadron landed its C-17 at the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands, in response to the exercise scenario.
